Christmas Lights

Isn't it time to turn them off? I love the holidays as much as the next guy, but this is freakin' ridiculous! Someone on my street still has them turned on on January 30th. Is ther some rule of thumb for this?

Pathetic! I have to stare at my neighbors icicle lights all year long as they can't take a ladder and 10 minutes and take them down!!!! It kind of ticks me off to have to look at them as the mercury hits 95 degrees in August!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

you guys are right on the money with this one. It also takes away from the special time frame of the holidays.

Christmas lights should only be up fro the day after Thanksgiving until New Years Day. Both are days that most people have off from work.

Seeing Christmas stuff starting in October through Valentine's Day is maddening.

JD, go to Pulaski and fish the Salmon RIver, they keep them up all
year, with annual snow falls of somethin around 300 inches, what
else do they have to do?

WTF! The people on my street finally took down their lights last weekend. Tonight, I'm driving through Canton and not only do I pass 3 houses with lights on, the town still has the trees along Washington St. downtown lit up. It's almost Easter!

One of my neighbors just took down their lights from christmas.

Now, from about 6pm on, their entire front yard glows green with St. Patty's Day lights.

Yes life is that bland. And for the record, the decorations are still inflated and lit as of tonight.

RF9,That is my wife's biggest pet peeve as well and I get to hear about it,like I have control over the situation.

It's funny how some still leave them on,some put them up & they look good depending on setting, application on or off season, some look like $hit even in season, but we all have our own threshold/benchmark of taste.I don't know what makes most people tick, whether it's procrastination, laziness, they just don't give a crap what other people think,or a combination of thing's.
But I will say this, some true Americans who hold strong family values will leave there house lit for there loved one's who are over sea's to come home for the holidays, not everyone can share the same time frame as most of us do.
See we have the luxury of laying our head down at night in peace while our warriors are out on the front line for us all.
So what ever the case maybe, one just never knows what other peoples circumstance's are.

Just my .02
