The "It's On!" early season large challenge

Everybody's foaming at the mouth for the first large migrant fish. We'll get a few here and there until May 15th or so, then things should break wide open for numbers in the RI/Se Mass area, just like it always does.

Here's how to play:

1. Contest runs April 18 until Memorial Day.

2. Largest shore caught striped bass takes the cake.

3. You must provide sufficient proof of your catch such as a photo and/or weight slip. Use a scale if you have it or tape measure to add credibility if you release the fish...no need to kill the fish for a silly plug.

4. Don't bore me with "formula fish" as everybody knows the average fisherman can't measure a fish correctly anyways and thus, the "formula" is essentially meaningless to me...

5. Largest fish by weight will get a BB custom plug of your choice. In the event of a tie for weight, I'll go by length.

So you have been making plugs for what....3 months? Now they are the "prize" in your your tournament.
Mike I am shocked and dismayed by this blatant ego-manical attempt to become one of the plug maker elite.

No boat, back in the suds.

Its either one of my plugs or a pack of rusty eel hooks as its all I have left in my inventory.

Actually, I was going to award one of Numbskull's darters as a prize and claim it as my own work...

Alas, I hope the paint and epoxy will stay on these things for a few more weeks so I can get rid of them...

Now get out there and catch something noteworthy, all of you..

Well, he has swayed from the dark side, whadyaexpect? Actually this is good, they will be very rare when he wakes up.

I will add to that prize with the elusive S-B welcome kit; Anatomy shirt (only few sizes remaining), S-B sticker, and BackBeach's 7 Mile River Hot Spots Manual.

Mike - just because people will ask - Biggest = ??? - Weight, Length, girth next to skinny dude? Open to BB interpretation ?

Biggest by weight, ties broken by length.

Pics should be taken if possible so you can bust the stones of all your fellow S-B ers.

Great fish for May and nice picture. That's what fishermen are suppose to look like.

I went from surf to boat to surf in 24 hours yesterday and slept exactly 3 in the last 36.

God I love this time of year.

No boat, back in the suds.
