chesapeak bay

can anyone tell me what the fishing it like there in early august. is it worth a trip down from lancaster, PA.

depends how far you want to drive and whether you have a boat. northern end of the bay will be slow since it will be bath water. Deeper water near bay bridge and south will hold fish. Anything an easy drive from lancaster will be a waste of time from shore.

we'll have a boat. father in-law says he's close to tilghman's island. that's pretty far up north i think.

that is far enough south to get fishin deeper water with a boat. Looking at 3 hours drive from Lancaster. I love that area though, so i would go fish or not.

drum fish near tilghman's??

thanks zimmy. for stripers i might pass on that offer. but if i could get into some drum fishing we might go.

any idea if there are red or black drum in that area this time of year?

i don't know of drum going that far up. down by the tunnel for sure. couple more hours south
