Finally time to turn a few
Lifes been a wirlwind since before Thanks giving... ..Early ice had me fishing since before thanks giving... and I've been insanely busy at work...last night I finally found the time ( with a little inspiration from this thread) to dust off the equipment and turn a few... I was almost out of needle fish so I turned and drilled a dozen last night... I'll seal 'em tonight..it begins...

Greek, those darter hybrids are amazing. Love the paint too, fish catching colors period. I'm drooling over that wonder bread one... How do the smaller sizes compare in swim action, any noticable difference? Great work.
I turned a dozen needles out of my good stock of wood, then I turned another dozen out of railings that I took from my office and all I can say is what a waste of time. Turned and sanded great, but the f in grains in this wood made my thru bit do a Uturn. Lesson learned. 3 of 12 survived, but they all might as well be trashed.

I love all the slope headed stuff. I'm still messing around with that stuff too. Just a few experiments/prototype kind of things I want to try.
I've hit the point where I don't really need to build much. I can't seem to part with my old stuff, I may just refinish some of the beaters and get them back in the rotation.

Hey Fellas,
Finally got a chance to sling some paint.....took for ever for me to cut a new stencil for my mayhem pattern (old one got jacked).
So I painted up a couple...need a couple coats of clear and a little more detail work and they'll be teeth ready...also have about 25 or so in different stages but slowly getting there. I attached a pic of the Orange Mayhem finished proto that I let one of my buddies walk off with...regretting that move
Happy building,
Best,
MS

Don't worry Ross. I get less done every year. I have 5 lifetimes of plugs already so I don't feel the rush to finish much anymore. I probably turned 150 plugs at least and will most likely only finish a few by fest and 1/3 by fishing time and then I am done till next year. . Keep it fun that is what I shoot for.

Finally working on some stuff
Seems like I have had less time this year for building but am getting some stuff done or at least in the works. Hopefully done for Plug Fest. I have some needles done already, (more than in this pic) some small peanuts and stuff in the works as well as a bunch of sinking glider/jerkbait type plugs. All the rough blanks and un-primed stuff in the pic is cherry. The painted needles are mahogany, and the spook I painted like a snake it cedar. That was a fun one to paint. That one may not see the water but the rest will.

Got my primer in mail yesterday so I primed some plugs today. Might have some stuff done for plugfest if I can just stay on track.
