Don't know where you get that from.....he's only had 1 losing season in the past 6 years....

Biggest knock on him is that he is fragile....can't seem to stay healthy

My initial concerns about Clay appear to be "dead on".
He's an ace one minute then a worthless a55 the next.

Red Sox PLEASE follow the example set with Salty....
even if we have to lose money and release him for assignment....

It sucks that one out of five games I can't bear to watch anymore. It's like watching a good friend play Russian Roulette with real bullets.

Who do you replace him with? if you haven't noticed the Sox have Bupkiss for starting pitching. they currently have 5 number 4 starters for their rotation.

only one of their starters has an ERA under 5 and that is Kelly who is barely there with a 4.94

I'd be more worried about Porcello, who is making almost 3 times as much as Bucholtz, and is coughing up HR's at a record clip

Relax. Once Larry Lucchino gets finished with his present mission of greasing enough RI politicians to get a free state of the art AAA stadium for the soon to be ProvSox, he'll get working on loosening up the purse strings to get better pitching.

Not sure I agree on 5 number 4 starters.. I think we have a couple #5 starters and maybe 2 that could do better in the bullpen. Who knows Clay may make a good reliever.

Who to start? Find a couple #3 starters or perhaps a #2. Maybe stretch one or 2 of our bullpen guys out and let them try starting.

Or put Clay in the bullpen and bring up Owens or another young arm. I think the pressure of starting is too much for Clay's fragile mental state. Maybe if he didn't overthink and worry about serving up a stink burger prior to every start, he wouldn't suck so much.

But as is, I do not watch games when Clay starts, I will however have it in the background in the garage while working on things, just in case he miracles a win out of his rear end.

I was being kind ....but that is my point....Clay is far from the only thing wrong with this rotation. Clay is being paid #3-#4 starter money, Beginning last year he was our #5 guy....so why he is all of a sudden supposed to be our Ace makes no sense....just because he's the only recognizable face in the rotation from 2013.

Porcello on the other hand IS being paid like an ace at over 20M a year....he's the guy we should be getting on to up his game.

Where do you find them? And The bullpen isn't exactly a strong point on this team either.....

I know and luckily the new hitters we acquired are hitting well enough to make it interesting most nights.

Ah, Joe Foy reborn.

Foy was probably before your time. The Sox were so high on Foy coming out of AAA that they converted The Boomer to a first baseman to make room for Foy. Which worked out, in a way. Scott kept Foy's fielding average in the .900s. Barely.

I was impressed with his "belly flop" catch the other night. Most of us full figure guys do NOT like to belly flop on grass. I think he is doing much better on defense than Ramirez in left field.

However both of them are hitting very well, and a mistake here and there on defense, so far has been outweighed by their offense.

I think most of out pitchers will settle in, with the only exception of Clay. I would love to see Clay pitch for the Yankees.

Seems the Porcello contract may have contrasted Clay's, in his head he knows he's only getting paid for the #4 spot, and I think he may have issues with Porcello making almost triple his pay. I am on NO WAY suggesting we pay Clay the pay of an ace to make him play like an ace.

Once again Clay has reinforced why I can't stand to watch him pitch.....

looks like we are on our way to repeat and go worst to worst back to back seasons....
