I was talkin to an old ditch troll the other day and he still loves his Abu 7000 and his Penn 706.Both have loads of mileage on them.
My old emblem pro is still going and my 7000 is on its 3rd rebuild. The old red one.

Any experience with this one? RA was pushing it over on SOL. Expensive but fast retrieve, optional gearing, looks plenty strong, and weighs 10-12oz less than a comparable spinner.

I picked up a Torque 5 spinner at the end of last season. Going to try and kill it this year.

Had to send my Stella 10k in for service after a couple of months of heavy jigging. It was supposed to still be under warranty but they still soaked me the $30 plus shipping both ways. I love the reel but think it might become plugging only. Especially since Shimano's planned obsolescence has just about taken effect.

If you're thinking conventional, the smaller Penn Fathoms(12 and 15) are really sweet, and under $200. Very smooth, great drag and a surprisingly tame caster.
