He said that if you can dig coal, that translates into an ability to write computer code. That’s what is laughably absurd. Why did he pick writing code? What possible
correlation can there be, between writing code, and digging coal?

Try to expand your thinking, not every sentence and the meaning is black or white. Could be he meant to imply if you have the balls and determination to take on such a dangerous and inherently unhealthy job in order to support your family, that with training that same drive might be enough to learn skills that might result in a better living wage.

I’m far from a computer expert and that is an understatement, but when I started my hobby Ledge Runner Bait business back in the late 80’s, I just didn’t have the money to pay anyone to design a web site, so I picked up an HTML book for dummies and with some reading, lots of patience and trial and error, I think the web site turned out decent.

So yes Biden may have hinted, desire, training and patience might be enough, stretch your partisan brain and maybe you can read between the lines.
