Seriously, I will be first in line to sign a petition provided they can show us accurate and unbiased data.
My layman's opinion is there are far too many juvenile eels taken, not only for human consumption, but for bait as well. I would be all in favor of gear that allows elvers under a certain size to pass through. In addition, there is a lot of good info available regarding the impact of dams on anadromous/catadromous species. I wouldn't worry this fall, but it will happen at some point.
When it does I'll shave my head,get religion and purchase a lathe. Masquerading as Numbskull will be a lot of fun.
