The night before the first big north-east blow 3 weeks ago.....1-3am....25-35 class smashing eels on the first wave on what seemed like every other cast for over 2 hours. Unreal.

Last day in September. Completely alone, gusting SW 25-30 in the ditch for the last few hours of the West. Completely dead for 3 hours and then it was like someone flipped a switch. Cast eel count to five and set up on a 20-30lb fish. 9 eels 9 casts 9 quality fish. Wouldn't touch anything else.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan
