I think for this stupid tournament, every fish weighed in should be gutted after weighing it and checked for lead.

If the fish was caught the other night, then what's up with the "08/17/2008" date on the photograph?

I'm a little higher than a lot of you guys, I think it is in the low 40# range. But thats still 20# plus short of the weight Cowhunter is quoting.

Real hard to imagine how it is 60# plus, but pictures can sometimes play tricks. I'd give the guy the benefit of the doubt unless you know they are the cheatin' kind.

Whether its a legit fish(or not) I'm not sure, but there will surely be more pics taken and an official weight registered if its legit...that's why I always say, "Show me the slips."

Cowhunter, you should have entitled the thread, "Another one for Greg Myerson!!!"

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole

Anyone know where he's weighing his fish? After seeing this and the picture of his 55# I know I've been going to the wrong scale!

45" to 46" maximum I'd say, and nowhere near 55 pounds, not even 40 if you ask me, gut ain't big enough or too hard to tell from picture.

how does anyone hold a 55 pound anything out that far from their body for a picture?

is this the point you are making?
who is that? I know it's not you

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

besides needless killing of many large...tournaments seem to bring out the very worst of some folk....i know that charities usually benefit, but the bad outweighs the good imo.

I'm not so sure it's not a big fish. Let's say the guy is 6 feet tall and has a forearm length from wrist to elbow of 12-13". Given the dimensions in the 2D photo from nose to tail that's a 52-56" fish depending on foreshortening. That picture is deceptive, the dimension from his wrist to the fish's nose is a lot bigger than you'd think.

The fact that it's held out from the fisherman, and somebody had to support his extended arm also indicate a high weight.

you know CH you are a respected bass fisherman, but if you are trying to throw stones at another fisherman in the OTW tournament, make a frigging accusation, don't pussyfoot around trying to "see what others" think... otherwise it looks like sour grapes about the guy who is poised to win the Angler of the year for OTW

** caveat, I have no frigging clue who this Greg person is. this thread is just internet crap and furthers my point why I don't enter tournaments like this, it really brings out the worst in a lot of otherwise nice, respectable anglers**
