AGAIN

i have to say

that i agree totally with everything George Carlin rationalizes

but the method of protecting the Plovers
has ALREADY gone to the extreme

by Violating the access Rights of the Fishermen

And taking it a Step Higher.....

By Poisoning everything that might eat an EGG

is TAKING it way beyond The extreme....
as the other animals have the right to survive(live) as well

Crows are hated by other birds because they eat eggs
and baby birds right out of the Nests in the Spring

this is natures way and NATURE knows best
it will release its own "fix" in due time.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Bob i don't want to anger you... nor anyone
for that matter......
but! some BATTLES "are" just worth having

and if that means you have to stay away from home
or go drinking some beers with your Buddies
in the man caves for awhile...so be it... i always say...
`~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
our own Government has poisoned its own people
in the United States for a very Long time
citing well....it was an acceptable risk factor
if a certain percentage of the population
dies from the use of this particular prescription.

their name is the federal drug administration

raven;that's why I took the time to go and listen to what is being said from all fronts.Instead of spouting off at any particular representitive of the issue i studied the visual and the verbal pieces presented.1st off the whole issue personnally about the birds[plovers] is noble BUT the rest IS total B/S.This is all about REVENUE plain and simple.the best part was when a series of photographs were presented showing the crowd at Marconi Beach in July.A pair of plovers nested near the stairs to the beach. The fenced off area took up the foredune[where the nest is located] and to the waterline below the hightide mark. Each tide would take out parts of the fencing and had to be replaced after each tide. The Park finally had to station a PERSON at the fencing to prevent people from walking in the area. The people were packed like Coney I. in a small area.As the tide rose the area got smaller with finally people were actually in the foredune due to NO BEACH.The Parks problem is erosion.Just like every other town on the Cape. The beaches with parking lots[big ones and small] are losing revenue. The birds are nesting closer to the lots themselves so the rules are now effecting the tar.The orv crowd has had to suck up the no negotiation b/s for over25yrs.In the printed material handed out before the "forum" stated"We have begun consultation with the US F&w svc.,the federal agency responsible for the enforcement of the Plover Recovery Plan,on an overall approach which would allow us to impact potential nesting sites at our LIFEGUARDED BEACHES,while increasing productivity at other locations."This is not about the birds. It's about money. Now the POISON issue. The biologist who will be doing the "baiting"stated that the poison dissapates in the bird after ingestion quickly and is harmless even before the death of the ingested bird.Rendering the carcus harmless to scavengers.A number of people stated different findings of their own on this matter.Id say appx. 20 people stood at the microphone and asked questions and comments. The ones who were conspicuously absent [at the mike] were the Audobon people. They were in the audience but silent.Need I say more.A couple of MBBA [jackets] folks were in the audience also.So I'll bet they also saw through the smoke so to speak.I could go on and on.I'm waiting to see if this is going to be slid by the public in the next few weeks.

Thanks Saltyfly (Bob)... excellent update, and about what I expected...

Raven I think you were responding to the other Bob's post..that is now gone...but I could be wrong... but I understand TBob's POV too!

Saltfly.. the next meeting is Wed night.. another I cannot attend..
will it be worth your time to go to that venue??, or do you, as I, feel it will just be a replay...of the famous dog and pony show, that the NPS, does so well...

karl; I'd say it's a repeat of the same information in a different location.the center for Coastal Studies is a smaller venue so it could be a better place to "air" but ...I'd like to know how MBBA feels about being excluded from any plan to RELAX the closure areas on the beach.
